1. Excessive barking

It can be really helpful to keep your dog confined to a crate or specific area of the house where he will be less apt to ruin something when you are not home. A sharp noise can be used to deter you dog if he is caught chewing on the wrong sort of item. Then give him a chewable toy in place of the object on which he was chewing. Also be sure to exercise your dog regularly, as this will also help to prevent many behaviour problems caused by inactivity.
3. The Digging Problem
Digging is another instinctual behavior that you need to redirect to more productive, less destructive actions. All dogs will tend to want to dig, but there are dogs like Terriers that were actually bred for this instinct to be even stronger.
You may find it quite unnerving if your dog is digging holes all over your yard. If you can find a reason for your dog’s digging, try to get rid of whatever it is that’s causing the problem. You may need to spend some extra time with your dog, be sure he gets additional exercise and possibly more training too. You can also provide a place where your dog can dig without doing any harm, such as a sandbox, and let him know that it’s okay to dig there.
4. Separation Anxiety Behaviours
A very widespread behavior problem is known as separation anxiety. Behaviours associated with the anxiety can be unsuitable defecation and urination, chewing or other types of damaging activity, and barking and whining.
This type of problem will need you to dedicate real time and effort to advanced training techniques. As a last resort, some extreme cases are prescribed medications.
Inappropriate elimination is a behavior issue that can become troublesome very quickly.
One of the easiest ways for a dog to infuriate its owner is to urinate or defecate inside. It can cause damage to furnishings and floors in your house and make it so you can’t take your dog with you to public locations or to the homes of your acquaintances. The first rule in dealing with inappropriate elimination is to consult a vet to be sure that there are not underlying medical problems causing the unwanted behavior.
Puppies, especially those less than twelve weeks old, will have a certain amount of inappropriate elimination due to their level of maturity. With full grown dogs though you may need to look into behavior modification and other training techniques as this is a very difficult behavior to correct once it has been learned.
